Bristol Pig

Well, here’s the Blue Pig hitting the south west on a swift Saturday afternoon blast in the local woods. Cheap as cheap build up, using stuff off my full suss bike. Can’t see the kit ever going back on to the bouncy frame though, as this is just too much fun and goes everywhere the full suss bike ever went. For anyone else looking for one in the Bristol area, mine was built up by the excellent lads at Psyclewerx and last time I looked, they’ve still got a 16 inch frame in the shop. If they’ve sold that, I’m sure they’ll be getting more in. All the attached photo’s are low resolution, I’ve got much better versions.

Cheers

Couple pix of my new Mmmbop. With a solid build as you can see. It still comes in little under 28lb ... sweet!   Anthony

Blue Pig in New Zealand

Hi all at Ragley!

Had an 18" Blue Pig shipped over to NZ about a month ago, finished building it and have had three or four rides on the tough hill trails around Christchurch (South Island). The fact that it got here in perfect condition vindicates your efforts with the packaging! I bought it to replace a Cove Stiffee, as I loved the slack head angle but was keen to try steel after years of backside punishment. I always thought the stuff that people spouted about steel was rubbish, but after an Alu frame, it's like butter and feels great on the tricky rocks and the fast berms alike. I have to say, this is the ultimate trailbike - who needs suspension with bushes and pivots etc.! It's a pretty standard build, 32 QR15 Vans, SLX chainset (triple but with RF bash and 36t ring) XT etc.. Kore 710/50mm bars and 55mm stem seem to fit pretty well. You may notice the chain guide which has turned out to be essential over here (I am a Brit originally); I put it on after the rocky trails gave my shiny bashring severe chainrash!
You will probably be able to correct me but I'm guessing there can't be more than a couple of Pigs over here, if any, so I get plenty of looks and questions up in the hills. Being interested in design, it gives great pleasure pointing out the bits that someone (Brant!) has actually thought about, especially as the frame is at first glance so simple in the world of endless hydroformed metal. Great bike. Sadly I'm too poor to get a look in at the Ti, one day maybe!

Best Wishes,

Chris Burn
