18" Blue Pig

This is my Blue Pig, got the frame just after Christmas and took my time building it up. It's an 18" frame with 150mm Rock Shox Revelation RLT forks. The transmission is a mix and match affair with X0 twist shifters and rear mech and XTR up front. All propelled by Race Face Atlas AM Triple cranks with an old set of DX pedals, not the lightest and getting on a bit, but still working fine for me. I started out with Quad Dime Pro brakes but have recently changed over to Formula Oro K24s, really needed a little bit more stopping power. The carbon wiser bars, stem and seat post are all Ragley parts topped off with a Selle Italia Yutaak saddle.

I have no idea how much it weighs, but it's not too bad, about the same as my full suspension XC rig but far more responsive in all conditions and definitely lots of fun.

It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest incident of the nineteenth century.

Blue Pig (Noir)

Hi
Pics of my 20" Blue Pig - set for Ecosse trail rippin..a blend of Noir & Blanc.
First HT for over 10 years...it's everything I dreamt it would be...chosen for the downs rather than the ups. 67.5 deg HA is where it's at.
A confidence inspiring ride, allows me to carry a lot of corner and downhill speed. Really carves corners. Makes me leave the 6" FS at home.
Had about 90% of a bike in extra parts...so thought I'd do an HT..didn't take me long to chose a Blue Pig...but wanted a black frame so the 2011 frames were not an option.
I'm 6'3"...20" is a sweet size.
Didn't want the usual 70/71 deg HA trail HT's with 90/100mm stems..I like speed & DH too much for that milarky..
Build: 32 Talas 150 15mm QR, DT tubeless rims, XT, 60mm stem, Formula Oro 180/160, Hone double & bash with Blackspire Stinger (never leave home without one)
(Anybody looking for a steel HT with killer angles, nimble, agile, tough, fun, a grin warp factor 6 Mr Scott...forget the corporate razzamataz adverts for weak knee'd imposters...get a bike that rewards being ridden....get a Pig..)
A Ragley susser..? now that would be sweet...

All the best Ragley.

Gomez.

New Pig

Spike_and_bike_jan_2011_003

My latest addition running full XT gear just because i fancied a change from
what

everyone else was running, and im quite a light rider, with 140 mm revelations.
16 inch frame and a nice short stem.
Only had one outing in the peak district after leaving the full suss at home
and rides really nice.
Very different on the downhills after a full suss but feels nice to feel the
bike making you work harder.

Files

Just got the spec to how I want, nothing to flash, just solid reliable parts, rides an absolute dream!

Think the only thing that would improve the ride would be a dropper post. Not sure if that really justify's getting a 2011 frame though!
