Wasakero's Blue Pig X

Finally built her up and took her out for a series of shakedown rides. I love how stable the bike felt on the downhills and at speed. It's also a very forgiving frame on the rough stuff but I need to lower the fork a bit to improve low speed steering on the tight stuff. It should make it handle a bit more lively as well. I'm also concerned about all the extra stress that an exremely tall fork puts on the frame. The Vengeance is the tallest 160m fork out there! Static HA sits at around 64.5 degrees according to my phone's bubble level app. Despite this, the Blue Pig X is the best climbing slack bike that I've ever ridden.

My new Blue Pig!

Hi,

Just over 2 months ago I had a serious crash that meant I could not ride for a couple of months, which meant I was stuck at home with a stack of bike magazines and access to the internet - fatal!  I had been toying with the idea of building a Blue Pig for a good few months and the downtime from riding gave me the time I needed to do my research!  I tracked down a MK1 Blue Pig frame to the Bicycle Doctor in Manchester, then it was game on!  Over 2 months I bought almost everything on my wish list and this weekend finally managed to put it all together.

RockShox Pike 454's
Formula Mega brakes with 203mm rota's
FSA Orbit Extreme Pro Headset
Gusset Slade bars
Kore B52 stem
Hope Pro2 Evo's with ZTR Flow rims - all in black
Crank Bros split skewers (lovely detail!)
XT rapidfire shifter
XT shadow rear mech
XT rear cassette
Howitzer bottom bracket
Holzfella OCT2 cranks (running as a 1 x 9)
MKC X9 SL chain
Sunline V1 chain device
NC-17 Sub ii Pro pedals
Charge Spoon saddle
Ragley Seat collar
S-Works carbon seat post (had it sat on a shelf in the garage!)

I am REALLY pleased with how the build has turned out, although I am not yet riding off road I did take it for a spin around the village and was very impressed with the ride - can't wait to get it dirty and really see what it is capable of!

All the best,

Lee

Plush Hill Cycles Pig X demo

Blue Pig X V's Piglet, pick your pork treats.

After getting the Piglet built last month, we finally got round to Spanking our Pig X with chrome finish Spank rims and bars, add in the Rockshocks Revelations and we are ready to ride.

We built both the Piglet and Pig X in a 17inch so they can be demoed back to back by your average height rider.

The Piglet seems to be the fastest over the Long Mynd where we are based but the Pig X has the biggest grin factor on the descents, why not try them for yourself?
