Rag TI

Dear Ragley

Have lived on Stubbing, Mytholm all my life and subsequently been ripping up ragley woods (and its unoficial bridleways ) since 1992 and the glory days of my 42lb Giant Stonebreaker, now in downtown Mytholmroyd and the TI just makes perfect sense.

The bike rides like a dream and with the carbon seatpost and 25psi in the tubeless, its ride is effortless and extremely comfortable.

Here are  a few pics of my build, and some next to our Grahams fatter brother up Ragley. Just need to convert to some longer bars.........well when my bank account gets back up of its arse anyway !

Spec:
18" TI frame
Mavic 819 tubless rims
Hope Mono Mini Pro Brakes c/w Goodridge hoses
Thomson Elite stem
Easton Monkey Lite CNT Bars
Raceface Evolve Double
DBR Mag 12 Pedals
Ritchey Carbon Seat Post
Fizic Gobi Saddle
XTR Shifters
XTR shadow Rear Mech
XTR Front Mech
Fox 32 Talas RLC 140mm forks
Finished with bits of Hope \ Nukeproof blingage!

Cheers
Kev

Cam's new 18" mmmbop

Cam's new mmmbop 18"

This is my new 18" that I have just build up. I had a 20" for 6 months. I'm 6'1 and the 18 is just awesome, so much better than the 20, wish I had changed sooner.

My Blue (orange, white and gold) pig

Had my Blue pig frame for about 9 months and it's the first bike I've built myself. This project started with the persuasion of a knowledgable friend, who's advice throughout has been pivotal in the bikes final completion. Prior to this build, I had no bike fettling knowledge and would take even the most simple of problems to my local bike shop to fix. The bike is not 100% complete, although is 100% ridable. I wanted to take the pictures before I go out and get her muddy!

I chose the gold colour scheme originally to build her up as 'project pimp pig'  and the blue kinda worked it's way in. I think it works in a 'clashes but is still pimp as hell' kinda way. It's a bit shonky in places, but it's function over form currently . I plan to finish her off with a set of superstar wheels in blue to complete at the end of the year.

Spec:-

20' Frame covered in enough helicopter tape to sink a small ship (where I also got the British flags from)
Fork - Rockshox Revelation Race Dual Air with poploc.
Headset - Hope Hed doctor
Bars - Spank Spike 777
Stem - Spank Royalaa
Front Wheel - Shonky, Scratched grey 15mm ceramic DH wheel on old giant hub, craftily converted to 20 mm
Rear Wheel - Mavic EN319 on Hope pro 2 (stolen from my 6" full susser)
Brakes - Hayes Stroker Trail,  203mm front, 180mm rear
Shifters - SRAM X7
Derailleurs - Front SLX, Rear SRAM X7.
Cranks - A battered old deore set converted to double and E13 bash
Peds - Ancient Shimano DX's
Seatpost - Thompson Elite 400mm
Saddle - Ragley Cheeky.
Cables - Jagwire

Rodwell from Finland

I got mine ready just about a week ago.
So far it's doing just road kilometers, but will switch to cx-setup as soon as the weather gets worse here. I've been very happy with this bike, it took me about half a year to build it, but the first ride sure didn't let me down.

Sand, Sea, Sun and Slacks: An Englishman abroad

Took the Ragley mmmBOP as a 'second bike' to the Ile de Ré in France for the family hols.  The rough plan was that I got to do a few tough fast road rides to help annull the affects of wine and baguettes, whilst the fun bike went on the back of the bike for Katie to ride on our family days out (very flat island: even suitable for non-cycling wives) and I could play with the mmmBOP when the mood took me.

Was all a bit strange to ride in a sandy environment. Apart from being careful to un-oil the chain before I went, it was all a bit of an adventure.  No 'rides' as such - just loads of messing about on it... on and around the campsite we were staying at.

Highlights were:
  1. Chance to do loads of very natural 'cutties' round the corners simply by letting it drift on sandy tracks.  Ace.
  2. Riding back from the toilets past some young lads having an impromptu bunny hop competition on their BMXs and hopping straight over their football. (Sandals on flat pedals. Nice).
  3. Being asked by two people where I'd got my frame from and asking who sells them.
  4. Seeing Katie adorn it with a basket for day trips. It looked actually quite likeable in some odd way that I can't describe.
