My Blue Pig!

Hi all! this is everything I expected from trail riding bike and even more! I am very pleased with the 18" frame and with the components I used it came out 100%!

This is how I built it up:

FSA The Pig Downhill Pro Headset
Rock Shox Pike air U-turn
SLX 3x9 Set
Nuke Proof Generator hubs with Mavic XM719 rims and DT Swiss spokes (very pleased with this combination)
Sunline V1 710mm riserbar
Truvativ Holzfeller 60mm stem
Syntace Lockon grips
FSA 230 FR seatpost
WTB Pure V race saddle
Maxxis Minion 2.35 F / R tyres (very good grip)
Hayes HFX 9 180mm brakes (had them from my old bike, still very good brakes!)

I already had some fun with it in the snow, as you can see in the pictures ;)

Extreme Commuting Pig

Hi.

This is my version of a BluePig, which I am sure will upset a few purists out there. Being short and, well, slightly overweight, I wanted to build a light but strong  bike that I could use to commute through the week (hopefully losing some of the excess baggage), and beefy enough to play on at the weekend. Whilst I understand that the frame was for something a bit more extreme than commuting, I think I have built something that could be quite a Jekyll and Hyde.

The Pace RC41 bolt through forks could be seen as a little robust for the road, but they are light, and change the tyres and they come in to their own... they let me change the geometry too to make it more street friendly through the week. Likewise, the cranks are strong and light (and nice to look at although I need to change the colour of the spider). This split personality is also the reason for the large disc brakes... there is a lot of me to stop!

Anyway, loving it.

James.

Hey guys!

Got my new Blue Pig yesterday and it rides a treat! Not everyone agrees with the colour scheme, but I am proper chuffed. Hats of to Eighteen Bikes for putting it together!

My First Pig

From a worn and wonky single pivot rear sus' frame, Marin Attack Trail, that couIdn't be repaired with new bearings - probably 5th set, I wanted a hard tail to go with my Spech Enduro and Epic.

Pestered Somerset Bike, Weston-super-Mare to have Ragleys, frame arrived before Christmas. Too late for Santa! boo hoo. Nathan and Ian in the shop did a fantastic job on the build using Hope and Nuke Proof components - including Hope X2 brakes, stem, plus strong set Mavic 717 rims on Hope hubs with some parts carried over onto my new orange squash Blue Pig.

After its first outing the only mod needed will be a lay back seat post instead of straight to give my 6'1" frame a bit more reach on 18" Blue Pig.
